The brethren of the Denver Church of God (Seventh Day) are an exceptionally warm and inviting community of devoted Sabbath-keeping Christians. Our hearts are filled with immense joy as we gather together to worship God with utmost sincerity and a deep-rooted love for Him. However, what truly sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to genuinely caring for every individual that crosses our path. The essence of our identity lies in our sincere concern for the well-being and happiness of others, as we strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment for everyone who enters our doors.
Meet Our Pastor
The Denver Church of God (Seventh Day) is pastored by John Marlin. Pastor Marlin was baptized in 1996 and has been a member of the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day) since 1998. He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and received his ministerial license from the North American Ministerial Council in 2012. Pastor Marlin began shepherding the Denver Church in November of 2021.
Pastor Marlin believes that his first ministry is to his family at home. Scripture teaches that leading the church well requires first leading your family well and Pastor Marlin takes that very seriously. Amy has been his wife and partner in ministry since 1997, and their two children share in their love for the Lord and the church. Pastor Marlin’s understanding of the importance of family translates strongly into his care for the church and the families that make it up.
Pastor Marlin previously pastored in San Diego, CA and Mesa, AZ, but serving in ministry did not begin with pastoring. Pastor Marlin has served as a local church youth leader and deacon, and as an Area Rep. on the West Coast District Board. He has served on the General Conference Nominating Committee and served the Ministerial Council on its Nominating Committee and Literature Committee. He and Amy also served as the Youth Coordinators for the Central District for 3 years, and they served together in various roles at Spring Vale Academy for 5 years.
